This story is about a girl who has left her husband and on getting divorce papers looks back and in a letter form writes whatever had transpired between them and tries to trace the sequence of events and turning points where their relationship had gone sour. It was a process of one step leading in a reaction to another creating a wide gulf between the couple. Girl is an artist but is not allowed to perform because of her status while husband continues to sing and enjoy appreciation. Husband is under the control of father who due to military service is a control freak. She falls sick and doctor understands her predicament; they come closer that is not liked by the family and she is turned out of home. After getting the letter of explanation husband feels that it is not a letter but hand extended in friendship and love.
